This one is going to be short and sweet. I know you are anxious to get your license, so let me give you the Michigan real estate license requirements.

Now I’m not an attorney, so make sure you check with your lawyer on this (I had to put that disclaimer in there). But here is the simplified version of what you need to do in order to get your license:

  • You need to be at least 18 years old
  • You must be of “good moral character”
  • You’ll need to complete a 40 hour MREC (Michigan Real Estate Commission) approved pre-licensing course (Currently less than $200)
  • You must pass the final exam, given by AMP (Applied Measurement Professionals)
  • Complete and submit your application along with the required fee
  • Get a broker’s signature

Now if you are licensed in another state or you’ve held a license previously, you will need a current letter stating that you are in good standing with the real estate commission of that state.

But that’s the quick and dirty, there really isn’t anything else you need to do in order to get your Michigan real estate license. Again, let me encourage you that if you break this down into bite size chunks, you can get through this process very quickly, and before you know it, you will have your Michigan real estate license.
